TDS Treasure chests will contain anything from just gold to special ingots, lore books, trinkets, dye tubs, or unique items. You never know what’s inside till you open it up. All treasure maps must first be deciphered by a player trained in cartography with a sufficient amount of skill (as shown above). |

| Once your treasure map has been deciphered there are a couple of ways to find the chest. By double clicking on the map you will bring up an aerial view of approximately where the chest is located in relation to the land mass that its on. After this you will need one of 2 items to narrow the location down. Both of these items can be purchased on the ultimate item stone or you may be lucky enough to know someone who has one of these items and will help you on your search. |
| The first item is called Black Beards Head. To use this item you double click the head and target the map for the treasure you want to find. You will then get a message saying what directions to look in. When you think you have narrowed it down then (with pick in hand), double click the map. If you are successful then the chest will pop up from the ground. Then its only a matter of cracking the puzzle in the allotted time to get to the item's inside. **See Below** |
The second item is called a TPick short for treasure pickaxe. This item costs a little more but has a compass in the stock and is well worth the gold. To use this item you must equip it then double click on it and again target the map whose treasure chest you wish to find. As you move around the compass will update once a second and tell you which direction the treasure chest is. As you get close you will have to move slowly and give the compass time to update. Then when you are over chest, the compass needle will turn to a red spot telling you that the treasure is beneath your feet. You then click the "Dig Here" button to bring the chest up and proceed to cracking the puzzle. |

There are 5 Blank slots (B) that you need to guess not only the right color but the right slot the color is in. You have a range of colors to choose from (A) and to put a color in a slot you want, you need to click on the selector (C) below the slot you want that color in. Then select the color (A). Whenever you want to check on how you're doing, click the "OK" button and your progress will be shown in the window above (E). If you have all the right colors in the right slots, the chest will be unlocked and you may open it to see what loot it contains. BE AWARE, the longer you take to solve the puzzle or the number of wrong guess's you make, a monster will be summoned forth to battle you. So you may want to bring some help along. There are a couple of hints (D) to get you started. HAVE FUN! |
